چکیده

We evaluated the fire severity and recovery process of Latroon dry forest in Jordan following 2003 fire. A series multi-temporal Landsat-ETM + data delta normalized burn ratio (dNBR) were used to map immediately 1,5,9,13 17 years after. In addition, combined field morpho-physiological measurements, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) also 2020 assess recovery. Landsat-dNBR images revealed that about 65% was burned 2003. 2020, 90% area recovered condition before UAV means similar ground measurement across classes over tested species. showed most moderate highly severe had but measurements severely trees significantly shorter (p < 0.001) than those from studied Therefore, did not detect tree height changes. While can potentially estimate height, Landsat-ETM+ (near-infrared, chlorophyll; shortwave-infrared, water status) hold promise for estimating physiology canopy. Overall, different remote sensing levels are required track kinds changes forests.

Unmanned aerial vehicle field sampling and antenna pattern reconstruction using Bayesian compressed sensing

Antenna 3D pattern measurement can be a tedious and time consuming task even for antennas with manageable sizes inside anechoic chambers. Performing onsite measurements by scanning the whole 4π [sr] solid angle around the antenna under test (AUT) is more complicated. In this paper, with the aim of minimum duration of flight, a test scenario using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) is proposed. A pr...

Mapping forest post-fire canopy consumption in several overstory types using multi-temporal Landsat TM and ETM data

To facilitate the identification of appropriate post-fire watershed treatments and minimize erosion effects after socio-economically important fires, Interagency Burned Area Emergency Rehabilitation (BAER) teams produce initial timely estimates of the fire perimeter and classifications of burn severity, forest mortality, and vegetation mortality. Accurate, cost-effective, and minimal time-consu...

forest stand age classification using landsat etm+ data

classifying age classes in a large area using remotely sensed data has considerable significance for forest sustainable management. in this research, landsat etm+ data from loveh forest, dating july 2002, were analyzed to investigate the potential of this sensor for age class mapping. we applied a systematic cluster sampling method to collect field data. we used 99 plots so that contained 32 pl...

Monitoring of post-fire forest recovery under different restoration modes based on time series Landsat data

Forest fire is a common disturbance factor, especially in boreal forests. The detection of forest disturbance and monitoring of post-fire forest recovery are crucial to both ecological research and forest management. The Greater Hinggan Mountain area of China is rich in forest resources, but also has a high incidence of forest fires. After the most serious forest fire in the history of P. R. Ch...

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles as tools for forest-fire fighting

This paper reviews the possibilities of UAV applications to forest-fire fighting in the typical before-during-after scheme. Before-fire they can be used for monitoring of the vegetation and the estimation of hydric stress and risk index. UAVs can also be applied for forest-fire detection, confirmation, localisation and monitoring. Finally, the UAVs are also useful for the evaluation of the fire...
